Decreases in blood glucose are detected by the pancreas leading to the secretion of glucagon, a hormone that will impact liver carbohydrate metabolism. In a research lab, rats are placed on a 6 hour fast and then administered a CAMP phosphodiesterase inhibitor that is selectively taken up by the liver. Following the administration of the inhibitor rats are given a carbohydrate rich meal. Given this answer the following questions.

a. In comparison to control rats, rats given the inhibitor will have increased/decreased/the same PKA activity within the liver cell 30 minutes after the carbohydrate rich meal. Why?

b. In comparison to control rats, rats given the inhibitor will have increased/decreased/the same GNG ?ux within the liver cell 30 minutes after the carbohydrate rich meal. Why?

c. In comparison to control rats, rats given the inhibitor will have increased/decreased/the same PIP3 levels on the inner lea?et of liver cells 30 minutes after the carbohydrate rich meal. Why?
