Read the case study entitled: General Motors: "Electrification capacity constraints" from Ivey Publishing. A link will be provided on Moodle for you access the case study. Also download the student spreadsheet that comes with this case study.
In your report, answer the following questions:
1. What are the possible production options that Tang can consider? Which of the options are viable for the Orion's plant production rate increase in March 2018, or for the China market, or both? For the viable options, design a supply plan to ensure both the Orion plant and the China market receive their expected shipments on time.
2. What are the major cost components that Tang needs to consider when preparing the final proposal?
3. Provide a total enterprise costs analysis for each viable scenario.
4. Discuss possible risks in the capacity selection and how these risks can be managed.
5. Illustrate the potential impact of one (or several) of the risks discussed in question 4 with a sensitivity and/or robustness analysis. Which viable option would you recommend using?
