Question: A physician performing a heart transplant mistakenly connects the inferior and superior vena cava to the left atrium and the pulmonary vein to the right atrium. Using a flow chart or numbered list, trace the path of a red blood cell STARTING in the left atrium until it returns to the left atrium in the patient. The path should indicate the specific blood vessels, valves, and chambers of the heart the red blood cell would encounter on its journey.
