African Americans have been struggling for full civil and political rights since colonial times. Focusing on the years from 1954-75, provide an overview of the fight for African American civil rights. Be sure to discuss how the movement continued and developed after passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Be sure to include the early 1970s. See chapters 25-27 in your textbook.
