For this project - case study, required to choose a company that values or appears to value sustainability and ethical practices, conduct online research on that company, and then generate a report that includes the following information: 

1. An overview of the company's values and practices as they pertain to sustainability and ethical practices

2. A detailed description of the company's:

  • Sustainable sourcing strategies. This can be an existing strategy or one that is in the process of implementation.
  • Sustainable product and/or packaging design. Be sure to include specific examples.
  • Using Table 4.1 on page 116 of the textbook, describe any of The Ethical Trading Initiative's Base Code clauses the company may currently use. If the company does not practice any of these clauses, choose 2 or 3 of the clauses that you believe the company should practice and why you've chosen those particular clauses.

3. A detailed description of the company's:

  • Sustainable manufacturing processes. This can be an existing strategy or one that is in the process of implementation.
  • Sustainability processes for manufacturing waste and recycling.

4. A detailed description of how the practices being implemented by your chosen company can be applied to the small framing company you've been "working for" in the learning journey you are following on e-centennial. Be sure to include a discussion on the following topics. If your chosen company does not use all three, be sure to discuss why the small framing company should use these practices.

  • Ethical and Sustainable Sourcing
  • Early Supplier Involvement
  • Strategic Alliance Development

5. A detailed description of how your chosen company uses benchmarking to measure the success of their sustainability and ethical initiatives. If you are unable to find specific information on which benchmarking tools the company uses, describe what benchmarking measures the company should use to measure its success.

6. Conclusion

  • Provide a brief but effective summary of the information provided in the body of the report and discuss if, in your opinion, the company has succeeded in their sustainable and ethical objectives.
  • Discuss any strategies or initiatives that the company has not implemented, that you may think would be a good strategy for the company's long-term sustainability.
