Question

You notice an unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) overstepping the boundaries of their job responsibilities. As the charge nurse how would you best resolve the situation? You ask the UAP to go home because you feel that they are practicing in an unsafe way. You ask the nurse working more closely with the UAP to discuss the issue with them. You would approach UAP in front of the other RNs and point out that they're practicing outside of their limitations. You speak with the UAP in private, and review their job responsibilities.
