You have received Illumina sequencing data from a deep sequencing project on Borrelia burgdorferi. You sequenced 2x150 paired end read;

Two 150bp reads were generated for each cluster, one in the forward direction and one in the reverse. At this stage you are interested finding and removing sequencing errors in your data. During library preparation you fragmented the bacterial genome and some of fragments are shorter than 300bp long.

a) If you have a fragment 250 bp long which has 150bp reads from both ends, how much of the fragment is sequenced twice.

b) In terms of sequence what should be true of the overlapping parts of the forward and reverse reads on this 250bp fragment?
