You will examine the difference between outputs and outcomes and develop your own set of outputs and outcomes related to the new organization you are conceptualizing. Imagine your new organization is up and running. You have developed a strategic plan with a number of different initiatives listed within it. Identify one possible initiative; it may be a specific program or a service you plan to offer, or even a product you plan to sell. make a letter to the board of directors of your organization, describing in brief what the initiative is, how it is connected to your mission statement, and most importantly how you plan to measure the success of this initiative. Make your pitch to the board as compelling as possible, explaining how success in this program translates to supporting the mission statement. When describing the performance assessment of this initiative, be sure to distinguish between what are outputs of the initiative and what are outcomes. Finally, make sure that you have a feasible manner to measure the outputs and outcomes you are suggesting.
