ASSESSMENT 2 - Case Study
Case Study: Yusa Education Pty ltd Business Expansion
To this assessment, you are to assume you are a Senior Project Manager of PIT Solutions, which offers a wide range of Information and Computer Technology services to businesses of all sizes across Australia. Yusa Education has awarded PIT with project responsibility of Developing/upgrading of ICT network infrastructure and e-commerce integrated eLearning system their existing website.
YUSHA Education Pty ltd. is a reputed RTO based in Brisbane. The college has recently opened a new campus in Melbourne CBD as part of its planned business expansion.
All the interior setup for the Melbourne campus except the ICT infrastructure has been completed. While the Melbourne campus network is being designed, Yusha Education also wants to upgrade its Brisbane infrastructure to facilitate the increasing number of students.
The current network structure of Yusha Education Brisbane Campus is outlined below:
• Basic LAN which comprises two computer labs with 35 computers each, 25 computers used by the staff, and general-purpose computers for students.
• 5 24-port switches for connecting the computers through Cat 6 Cables
• 2 Access Points, providing wireless connectivity to wireless devices.
• A router providing the internet connection.
• Xero Accounting Software. Subscription-Based Component.
• Moodle (Learning Management System) for managing students' assignments. Hosted on AWS
• Office 365 subscriptions
• VOIP subscriptions
• Website (Hosted on an EC2 instance on AWS)
• 2x Network Printer.
Project 1: Design and upgrade ICT network infrastructure.
The college management has decided to set up a new computer network in the Melbourne branch while upgrading the existing network structure and establishing a secure connection between the networks. Some of the network upgrades will include:
• Distribution of office student office 365 to all the students.
• Implementation of a Single Sign-on Across the entire college ICT infrastructure including the lab and staff computers for both Brisbane and Melbourne Campus.
Project 2: eCommerce Integrated Online Learning Platform.
As part of the planned marketing and growth strategy, the college has also decided to add a separate eCommerce integrated online learning platform to their existing website to sell the short course online. The online platform should have the following features.
• Students should be able to view and buy the courses online.
• The platform should enable the delivery of Video lectures, Audio Lectures, and Text Lectures quizzes.
• Generate completion certificates after the student completes the enrolled courses.

• List all the resources required for the project and incur a cost (Including human resources, hardware, software, third-party services fees, and licenses.)
• Cost Estimation
4. Budget Control
• At least three methods will be used to control the budget.
