Problem

Information technology (IT) governance is a part of corporate governance and comprises a set of policies, processes, reporting relationships, roles, and committees. IT governance makes decisions on IT activities and resources to address IT issues, set priorities, and plan for budgets. The final goals of IT governance are to maximize the value of IT investments and improve the overall management of IT.

For this problem, you are taking on the role of a newly hired hospital administrator at Ashford Hospital, a small community hospital in the Midwest. After talking to your executive team, you realize that the health information technology and the system are outdated, and there is no effective IT governance. The board members ask you to present your evaluations and recommendations for IT infrastructure to serve the patients better and attain the Triple Aim.
