Question: In assignment, you will break an essay down paragraph by paragraph in order to describe how it all fits together. The main areas of concern are each paragraph's main idea, how that idea is developed or supported, and how that paragraph connects to the paragraphs before and after it.

This assignment is not an essay. Possible approaches include producing something like a formal outline or drawing up a flow chart. Whatever the approach, all will require you to write clear, coherent sentences. Your description of the essay should make perfect sense to someone who has never seen the original.
