Assignment: Mary Kay
Incentive travel is a growing field because travel is the ultimate motivator, encouraging employees to work harder, sell more, or stay with the company longer. Originally designed as a prize for employee performance, incentive travel is now being used in many different ways. Incentive purchase cards such as Air Miles are also gaining popularity.
The company gains through increased productivity or sales, decreased absenteeism or a better safety record and the employee wins by being treated to an all-expense-paid exclusive trip. The destination chosen for the award also wins by hosting a group of people who might not otherwise be visiting. Incentive travel is a potential growth area for the travel services component of the tourism industry.
