Purpose

This project provides you with the opportunity to apply what you have learned about organizational behaviour to a practical case.

In this part of the case, you will continue to work with the same case study, but as part of a group. Imagine that each member of your group is a management consultant and that you are working together as a project team to assist the organization with their organizational behaviour solution.

You will review and consider the solutions proposed by each group member in Part 1 of the case and apply your new learning to the same case, building on the concepts of Units 1-5: personality, perception, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, bias, motivation, and leadership, and integrating the concepts of Units 6-9: communication, group development, conflict, and diversity. As a group, you will develop a proposal to the leadership of the organization for steps that they can take to address the challenges facing the organization.

How to Proceed

1. Share a high level overview of your proposed solution from Part 1 of the case with your group members in your group work space on the discussion forum. Avoid pasting your entire individual paper completed as Part 1 of this assignment. Rather, post a summary of 200-300 words explaining your solution and why you selected it. Be sure to include some of the advantages and potential challenges of your own solution. It is important to recognize that every proposed solution, even yours, has both advantages and disadvantages.
2. Review your group members' summaries. Discuss with your group how you will work together to collaborate on the group project work. Consider creating a timeline and discuss ways to divide the work amongst the group. If you need to organize synchronous meetings, choose optimal online collaboration tools that work for your group within or beyond UMLearn. Some examples are Skype, Zoom, Facetime, or Google Hangouts.
3. Begin to create the proposal, building on applicable concepts from previous units and integrating new applicable concepts and models from Units 6-9 into your paper.
4. Prepare a paper of 600-800 words that describes the solution you are proposing to the organization. Include timelines if there is a staged rollout or steps within your solution. Imagine that this document will be presented to the organization's leadership as the executive summary of your proposal for how your group, as a management consultant team, recommends the organization address its challenges.
