Background - Describe the specific problem that you wish to solve. Include details about the issue. Is this an organizational policy issue? A personnel issue? Or something entirely different?
Explanations - Drawing from the information presented in our textbook, provide an explanation of why, in your estimation, this situation is a problem, and explain whether this problem has an effect on job performance, organizational commitment, or both. Please include references to the textbook, such as: "In chapter 3, Colquitt, Lepine & Wesson stated..." Given the strict word count, you'll need to strike a balance between breadth of coverage (i.e., the number of textbook references mentioned) and depth of coverage (i.e., how detailed your use of a textbook reference is in describing the problem).
Recommendations - Flowing out of the explanations discussed in the previous section, describe what you conclude is a solution to the stated problem. Describe what you, as a manager, could do to solve this problem. Finally, answer the following questions: Is this a "problem that cannot be fixed" to some extent? If so, describe what a manager or leader in the company could do to avoid similar problems in the future.
