Synthesis/Case Study: You are to pick one organization (company, non-profit, etc.) that, in your perfect world, would be the organization that you would most want to work for, by considering the following questions (and there could be others):
• How would I be a good fit with this organization's culture?
• Does this organization's management style seem compatible with what I would see as my own management style?
• What does this organization do in terms of products/services, etc. that are valuable?
• Is this organization innovative?
• What contributions could I make to this organization to enhance the good work that they are currently doing, i.e. what can I "bring to the table"?
Keep in mind that the above questions are examples only, because I want you to view this paper as an exercise in preparing for an actual job interview with one of the organization's hiring managers. To that end, your paper should include 1) the necessary research that you would do on this company prior to your interview. In other words, what have you learned about the company's mission, culture, commitment to ethics,
leadership/management style, etc. so that you can demonstrate good familiarity with the organization during your interview, and 2) the positives that you believe that you bring to the organization, that would be to its benefit. Can you effectively demonstrate to the hiring manager that you have invested the time and effort into learning about his/her organization (that's first), and then can you demonstrate how your knowledge, experience, values, beliefs about leadership/management, etc. would be compatible? Ultimately, both you and the organization should benefit.
This paper should be no less than 4, but no more than 5 pages in length.
