For this discussion, you are an HR professional in a nonprofit HR organization of about 500 employees going through some internal difficulties, including manager turnover and employee misconduct such as being away from a duty location when supervisors are not present. Also, there have been a high number of substance abuse events and a 19 percent overall turnover rate, which is much higher than other organizations in the same field. The nonprofit director is a traditional, no-nonsense approach leader who is suspicious of modern approaches to leadership, management, and HR management.
