Strategic analysis to review an organisation's current marketing performance from organisational documents.

Students are required to undertake a strategic analysis reviewing an organisation's current marketing performance from organisational documents.

Select a company of their choosing and download relevant documents (annual report, strategic plan) from the company's website. Students are then to undertake strategic analysis to review the organisation's current marketing performance.

Students should include in their presentation:

a) An overview on the company selected.

b) The organisation's vision or mission statement.

c) The organisation's current positioning strategy (i.e. where it is positioned in the market).

d) Marketing opportunities that the company has undertaken in the past two years.

e) Identification of how company resources were allocated (e.g. company time, promotion, staffing, money) by the marketing opportunities undertaken?

f) Discussion on whether the marketing opportunities undertaken appear to be profitable.

g) A review as to whether the opportunities undertaken in the past two years were aligned with the company's vision or mission?

h) Evaluation of organisational achievements and effectiveness of the marketing strategies.

i) Identification of any success factors and obvious areas for improvement.
