Organisational change in dynamic environments

Mr Madoff is the CEO of a technology company. This company operates in a dynamic and rapidly changing external environment. All this change has exhausted Mr Madoff. As such he has decided the company will no longer change the way it does business.

Mrs Anderson is troubled by this decision. She believes that change is essential for organisations working in dynamic environments. When she joined Pyrus she was looking forward to the challenge of working in a dynamic industry. She saw this as an opportunity to pursue professional development and personal achievement.

Fast forward 6 months. Without change the company is beginning to struggle - but the CEO, Mr Madoff refuses to implement change as he believes it will create undue stress for the workforce.

Mrs Anderson knows that in order to facilitate change she will need to convince Mr Madoff that it is the best thing for the business.

1. Mrs Anderson believes that organisational development and change is essential to protect the position of the organisation. She cites the Pietersen framework as an example of how best to manage a change process. She believes that as long as a considered process is followed, organisational change and development initiatives will always be effective. do yo agree with this perspective? explain your response.
