1. You are required to choose an organisational goal and conduct a meeting of the organisation's team of staff to communicate this goal and the team's contribution in achieving the goal.  You need to ensure that you:

a. Clarify the team's objectives in in relation to the organisation's strategic direction/goal

b. Establish linkages between organisational objectives, values and standards and the responsibilities of the team and individuals

c. State clearly the expectations of the team and individuals and encourage commitment from the team

d. Address the expectations of the organisation

2. You will need to develop a plan for the team, to assist them in achieving the organisation's mission and goal.  You should develop the plan in consultation with the team.  You will need to include in your plan:

a. Detailed outline of goals and links to organisational values

b. Assignment of accountabilities and responsibilities to individuals, consistent with their competencies and operational plans, including your role in the team

c. Adequate resources to allow the team to achieve their objectives

d. Outline of individual objectives and work program outcomes

e. Timeframes for individual and team completion of goals

f.  Consideration of the environment and sustainability

g. Opportunities for community, industry engagement, professional networks and professional development

3. Once the plan is underway and the team has commenced working toward the organizational goal, you need to complete a personal reflection on your role as the team's leader.  This should be ongoing throughout the project.  Ensure that you critically reflect on your strengths and areas for improvement and document what you could do to improve your leadership style.  In your reflection, ensure that you address the following:

a. Your ability to build trust, confidence and respect

b. Your ability to positively role model behaviours such as, effective communication and consultation

c. Your ability to be flexible and adaptable

d. Your ability to ensure consultation and participation in decision making in line with risks management plans

e. Your ability to ensure decision making takes into account needs and expectations of both internal and external groups

f. Your ability to empower the team and individuals

g. Your ability to create and maintain a positive work environment

h. Your ability to encourage teams and individuals to develop innovative approaches

i. Your ability to model ethical conduct and encourage others to behave ethically

j. Your ability to use appropriate interpersonal and leadership styles
