DETAILS AND INFORMATION ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT
The goal of this project is to provide you with an opportunity to explore current trends of Operations Management on your own. The instructor will randomly form teams of 3-4 students. Each team will select a topic relating to an emerging issue or an interesting case in Operations Management. You should select a topic that is interesting to yourself and the class. Make sure your topic is broad enough and written about enough that you will be able to find multiple published sources of information. You should select a topic that is an overview of
Emerging Trends,
Operations Risks/Issues ...or a specific detailed case example on
Best Case,
Worst Case, or
Unique applications of Operations Management
Good Presentations will (probably, but don't have to) include:
- Introduction: Explain the topic and describe why it is interesting and/or important to Operations Management.
- Main Body: Make several key points about the topic. This section should probably reference terms, methodologies, concepts, and/or applications from MGMT400. This section should probably be the longest section in terms of time and number of slides.
- Conclusion/Recommendation: Provide a summary of benefits and concerns. Provide thoughts on what should be done next or what could have been done differently.
- Keep it interesting... make it a presen
- Maximum 15-minute presentation (not including Q&A) o Teams will be penalized for exceeding the allotted 15 minute time.
- End with Q&A (Question & Answer) period.
- All team members must present.
- Bibliography slide is required at the end.
o Bibliography slide does not have to be presented. o Minimum 5 unique sources (Multiple sources / subpages from the same website count as only one source.) o The course textbook and lecture slides do not count as one of the five unique sources..
