Question

Access to education has disparities in educational resources and opportunities contribute significantly to global inequality. Limited access to education, healthcare, and clean water perpetuates the cycle of poverty, making it difficult for individuals and communities to escape poverty traps. The observation that low SES is highly predictive of poor educational outcomes by itself provides little guidance for education policymakers who have little or no control over the backgrounds of the students, at least in the aggregate, within a community. To address those challenges, policymakers need to understand the mechanisms through which low SES translates into educational gaps. (Ladd, 2012).
