Scenario: A preliminary assessment of the operating system needs to be performed, mainly looking at the processor, operating system architecture, memory and disk capacities, and network interfaces. On a virtual machine, the operating system needs to work just like all other operating systems on a physical machine, so we should also determine if 25% of the physical stand-alone server is capable of running a virtual operating system as capable as the physical machines we currently have. Based on the server capacity that the virtual machine will take up, some virtual hardware capabilities can be limited.
