It may be quicker than other technologies like the MRI, but the output is limited to a two dimensional "slice" and is limited to structure. The data gathered allowed researchers to analyze how injuries to specific brain structures affected behavior. And the use of a computer to interpret and display images was groundbreaking for neurologists, opening new ideas for technology."
