Within a couple of days the company flew Jan to a seminar in Toronto, where a well known quantitative specialist from a huge U.S. brokerage firm, Zach Dorroly, discussed one of his new models in detail, and Jan was intrigued by Zach's work. Jan tested the model with data from his own company, making some minor changes but keeping the concepts, until the model produced very positive results. Robertsen then told the management team at Double Beta that they now had a brand-new financial model, and that both clients and prospective clients should be informed of this positive development, as ongoing proof of Double Beta's continuing innovation and ability to add value.
