One alternative span of control Sue could have is to assign the part-time employees to different levels.

For example, the employee who has been employed at CHC the longest would have the most seniority and could be put in charge of the others.

Would this span of control be more effective at CHC than the wide span of control in which all of the employees will report to Sue?

Is any disadvantage associated with giving one of the employees power over the others?
