Question 1: Oliver Wendell Holmes on The Common Law
Question 2: Vampire Contracts?
1) I do not have any tattoos on my skin. The most memorable tattoo I have seen is from my friend, which is a quote. It says "Don't forget to love yourself." When I saw this tattoo, I was going through a tough time since I did a lot of things to please people. I paid too much attention to others and had no time for myself. I was trying hard to equalize myself with others. I just kept lying to myself that I could be like them. We went swimming with my friends, and one of them had this tattoo which left me thinking about myself. I was in deep thoughts and concluded that I did not love myself enough.
2) In my opinion, I cannot copyright a tattoo. Copyright is a law where the original works of an individual are protected, and they decide how other people will use them.It is because tattoos are art, and art is about being creative. They are beautiful, and people would resist using that tattoo if it has restrictions. People need to have the freedom to choose the kind of tattoo that they want without the limits of where and how it should be put. Having copyright for a tattoo indicates that people from all over the world must have permission from me to put the tattoo on anyone.
3) The tattoo artist should own the legal rights to the tattoo. Copyright is about reproducing or replicating original work. When a client comes to get a tattoo, they have one in mind, or they are given options where they can choose. It is the responsibility of the tattoo artist to ensure that they inform a client of copyrighted tattoos and the legal consequences of the artist doing it without permission from the originator. A client may not have this information, but a tattoo artist should know since it is their field of work. The tattoo artists are the advisors of the clients about the tattoos.
