The author's statement is true because it is very difficult for a product to involve 100% manufacturing activity or a service to have a pure service without any involvement of product characterstics. If there is a manufactured product, there has to be soem degree of element of service involved and vice versa. The example of my organisation is a combination of two. It is an educational enterprise working in corona era, where lectures are delivered by experts to the learners in online mode, and it is broadly characterised under service category. Being its large part comprising of skill based service only, there are many parts associated with it, which involve manufacturing, processing, sorting or assembling jobs. These include study materials which are processed as hard copies in a printing press, into soft copies on machines and sent to the learners through post or emails. There are offline learning models which need to be practiced as a part of course exercise and sent back to the institute after completion. There are processing jobs on servers, laptops and smartphones which are also some kind of non- service charactersticjobs.
It can be seen that my organisation has its tasks categorised as two thirds of service and one third of manufacturing / processing tasks.
