To improve security, WashU offers a walking escort service to students. Under this program, students may request an escort from a dispatcher, who then sends a security officer to accompany the student to his/her destination. For simplicity, assume this service is offered 24/7. The service receives requests every 10 minutes, on average (the coefficient of variation of the arrival process is 1). On average, it takes a security office 20 minutes to reach the student and escort the student to his/her destination. (The coefficient of variation of this process is also 1). If no security officers are immediately available to escort a student, then the dispatcher places the request in queue until an officer becomes available. There are 4 security guards dedicated to the escort service at all times.
