Question: A particular product is manufactured in two facilities, A and B. Facility B is more modern and accounts for 70% of the total production. A quality control engineer wishes to obtain a simple random sample of 50 from the entire production during the past hour. A coin is flipped and each time the flip results in heads, the engineer selects an item at random from those produced in facility A, and each time the flip results in tails, the engineer selects an item at random from those produced in facility B. Does this sampling scheme result in simple random sampling? Explain your answer.
