Joe and Jake are in Joe's apartment and they decide to go to restaurant for dinner. Joe drives (alone) to the restaurant by going east for 2.6 miles and then north for 6.8 miles. Jake has to first go to his apartment to finish some chores. Jake's apartment is 1.1 miles from Joe's along the direction 30 degree north of east. The roads from Jake's apartment to the restaurant go either north-south or east-west. If Jake is always driving either north or east, obtain how many miles does Jake drive from his apartment to reach the restaurant?
