Example:
Standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.2.5 Describe the overall structure of a story, including describing how the beginning introduces the story and the ending concludes the action.
Objective: Students will describe important events of a story with 80% accuracy.
Assessment: Students will read story map outlining the major events of the story. By using a story map, this graphic organizer will help me determine whether or not my students are making progress on our objective. The objective is derived directly from the standards, so I know the alignment is pretty clear.
