Question: Obeying Proust's law of constant proportions, stannous oxide is always 88.1% tin and 11.9% oxygen by weight; stannic oxide is 78.7% tin and 21.3% oxygen. Show that these numbers imply that in forming stannous oxide 100g of tin combines with 13.5g of oxygen.
