While you are walking a neighbour's dog at the local park, you are approached by Mary, a casual acquaintance, who is aware that you are a practical nurse. She tells you that her 92 year old widowed neighbor, Clarice, lives alone and has daily visits from a PSW for bathing, assisting her to transfer to her wheelchair and other care. She noticed that there were no footprints up her neighbour's walkway since a recent snowfall 2 days ago.

Being concerned about her neighbour, Mary entered the home this morning, with a key provided in case of emergency, to find Clarice in bed upset and needing to be "cleaned up". Mary bathed her neighbor, helped her to her chair and brought her some homemade soup. Mary sent her teenage daughter over to keep Clarice company.

You are employed by the same CCAC from which Clarice receives services although she is not your assigned client. Due to a shortage of PSWs, a private home care agency is contracted to provide unregulated care providers to some of the CCAC's clients.
