The Nurse Practice Act for Arizona states and outlines the scope of practice for registered nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel (Karlsson and Pennbrant, 2020). For registered nurses their scope of practice is summarized as ADPIE which means they can assess the patient in all aspects like their physical, emotional, spiritual and social state. They also can make a nursing diagnosis to come up with a plan to address the patient's problems and from the nurses findings and suggest this to the doctor. Next they can implement care that the doctor orders. Registered nurses can also evaluate care to see how the treatment plan is progressing and report their findings. Registered nurses also are able to administer medications and treatments, and assist in procedures.
