Question

"Daughter Ann called and left a message about an incident over the weekend. Joan had nausea episode and when resident asked for nurse to give half of insulin medication the nurse called the on-call physician who then gave orders not to give insulin resulting to high blood glucose later in the day. There is already existing orders on EMAR giving directions on how to address this situation if it ever arises. The issue was addressed with the nurse in question and educated on what to do in the future. Joan and the daughter are in agreement with the orders given by the inhouse DR. and NP and would like these orders to supersede other physicians who do not know Joan well in relations to her blood glucose."
