NURS 1012 Midwifery Professional Practice - Western Sydney University

Select a Patient Case Study from the cases provided. Students are asked to address the below criteria related to the Fundamentals of Care and the NMBA RN Standards for practice in an academic paper of 1500 words.

Question 1. Provide a brief introduction of your patient including their medical diagnosis, family, and social situation (150 words)

Question 2. Discuss how you would address the Fundamentals of Care Framework when providing care for your patient/ client in relation to:
• Fundamentals of Care - Relational: (350 words)
o Discuss how you would meet the relational aspect of the Fundamentals of Care when establishing and maintaining a professional nurse- patient relationship with your case study patient, supported with evidence-based rationales.
• Fundamentals of Care - Physical: (350 words)
o Discuss how you would meet the physical aspect of the Fundamentals of Care when providing care to your case study patient. Support your discussion with evidence-based rationales informed by anatomy, physiology and/ or pathophysiology.
• Fundamentals of Care - Psychosocial: (350 words)
o Discuss how you would meet the psychosocial aspect of the Fundamentals of Care when providing care to your case study patient, supported with evidence-based rationales.

Question 3. Discuss how you would demonstrate ONE of the below NMBA RN Standards for practice when providing care for your chosen patient/ client.
