Find the energy required to create vacancy in FCC nickel at room temperature (300 K) if the "defective density" is measured to be 8.493 g/cm3 and it has a lattice constant of 0.352 nm. You may assume all defects are vacancies and that the Arrhenius constant (C) is 2.024x1032 . Hint: find a relationship between the defective density and theoretical density as a ratio of the numbers of atoms in the defective and theoretical structures. Please provide your answer in units of electron-volts (eV).
