Question

You're an avid golfer and recently you've noticed that the toads you typically see on the golf course have way more spots than the toads you see in the forest near your house. You wonder whether this is because the high pesticide use on golf courses is affecting the toads. You are curious to determine whether this phenotype is a result of local adaptation and so you find a bunch of toad eggs from both locations and bring them home to rear them both in the same environment: your backyard ponds. You are eventually overrun with toads and you measure the number of spots on all the offspring that had parents from each of the locations. If there are more spots for toads on the golf than the forest, what can you conclude?
