The null and alternative hypothesis for a test are Ho: U = 10.9 and Ha: U does not equal 10.9, respectivly, where U is the mean length of imprisionment for motor-vehicle-theft offenders in a city. Given below are (i) the population standard deviation, alpha, (ii) a significance level, (iii) a sample size, and (iv) some values of U.

(i) sigma = 5.4 (ii) alpha = .05 (iii) n = 100 (iv) U = 9.90 , 10.40 , 11.40 , 11.90

Please determine the probability of a type I error for the following: 9.90 , 10.40 , 11.40 , 11.90
