According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), 49.4% of American adults 18 years old and over meet their Physical Activity Guidelines for aerobic physical activity. The owners of a gym want to know if the proportion of their members who meet these requirements is different from the national proportion given by CDC. They take a random sample of 40 members and 28 meet the CDC's guidelines. At 1 % level of significance, is there sufficient evidence that the proportion of their members who meet these requirements is different from the national proportion given by CDC? (Define the parameter of interest, state the null and alternative hypotheses, compute the value of the test statistic and the p-value, state your decision and give the conclusion in the context of the study)
