You must research nine different organizations with job postings related to your field.

• You will need to find 
  • Three organizations from your current city
  • Three organizations from another city in your country that interests you 
  • Three organizations from a city in a different country that interests you 
• Please copy and paste the table on the next page and use it to submit your information. You will need to use this table three times (once for each city). 

After you have completed this research, please respond to the following reflection questions:

1. What trends did you notice between the job postings/organization? Were there any differences between geographic regions?
2. Were you surprised by anything, or did you find what you expected? Explain.
3. Are you optimistic for the future? What do you foresee as challenges?
4. What did you learn from this research?

Part 2: Networking 

• Find two industry networking events or opportunities in your city (or surrounding area)
  • Explain what each event or opportunity is
  • How might attending each particular event/opportunity be valuable for your career? 
• Find two interesting and useful social media profiles (for individuals or groups) that would contribute to your industry networking. Please note that you must identify a specific profile, not simply a general social media website (eg. your response might be "Bob Smith on LinkedIn" or "@BobSmith on Twitter" or "Ottawa Computer Group on Facebook" ... not simply "LinkedIn" or "Twitter" or "Facebook").
  • Explain who each of them is and why they are interesting and relevant to your field.
  • How would you network with each of these specific industry professionals or groups in a way that would be valuable for your career?

2. What do you think will be the most challenging thing about networking in your field? Why?
3. If you were to attend one of these networking events, which one would you choose and why?
