Class - In the late 80s Nordstrom instituted a core competency of excellent service. It set them apart from almost every other retail department store. Even today they state, "Free shipping, free returns, all the time."

I had a friend who bought a pair of penny loafers (that is dating me!) at Nordstrom’s and wore them a year and they seemed to wear out quickly so he took them back to Nordstrom and they gave him another pair. No questions asked. Guess where my friend buys most of his clothing now . . .
