Jane is the top candidate and after the interviews, the final one with the Dean, states that the job is hers but among the courses in one that enrolls the athletes at this Division I power ranked university. She is told that she must pass all the athletes regardless of their performance. Jane refuses, rejects the offer.
Susan, on the other hand, goes through the same set of interviews but says, "sure, I can do that!" She gets the position and goes on to live a comfortable life and moves on years later to a different university. Jane, however, has a life of scholarship but ends up teaching at a college, dedicating her knowledge to educating students.
Which conflict of duty is present in Jane's case according to Ross' Prima Facie Duties and which did she fulfill by making her choice?
