Posterior superior iliac spines were prepped and draped in the usual sterile fashion. 1% Lidocaine was administered to anesthetize the area. The needle was inserted into the left iliac spinal region, rotated to the right, then left, and removed. The needle was then inserted into the left iliac spinal region at a 45-degree angle, and the procedure was repeated. Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy were performed and sent for contingent flow and contingent cytogenetics.
