Question

The patient (from the previous case scenario # 2) has two pressure iniuries: Right trochanter wound: 5 × 6 cm with firmly attached eschar. There is no erythema or induration of the periwound tissue, no tenderness to palpation, and no drainage. Left trochanter wound: 6 × 7 cm with gray slough totally covering the wound bed, foul odor, and copious drainage. There is erythema and induration extending out 3 cm circumferentially from the wound. The patient's temperature at the time of admission was 102.4 F. Since admission last evening. it has ranged from 100.8 °F to 101.6 °F. Lab Data: WBC= 22,000; Prealbumin = 10; AbA1c = 8.5; FBS = 285.
