The report included: 65 yo male admitted to the floor at 0200 from the ED for lower abdominal pain. A CT scan was performed and revealed a 10 cm pelvic mass in the left lower quadrant. The patient's current VS are BP 150/86, T 99° F, P 84, R 18, pulse ox 97 on room air. The patient received morphine 2 mg IVP two hours ago for abdominal pain 6/10 and current pain level is 2/10. The general surgeon on call was notified by the ED and prescribed the current orders, but has not seen the patient.
