NEWSPAPER ASSIGNMENT

The purpose of the assignment is to increase your awareness of the importance of physical geography in real world events. You will have to do sorne researcht find articles that fit this course and do an overview of the articles using college level writing skills including in text citations and a works cited page.

Assignment: rind three articles in newspapers. magazines Q r the internet (at least one article has to come from a source other than the internet, Le. a paper article.)

You must write at least a two page overview for each of the articles including how the topic fits the course and the chapter and page numbers from the textbook that fit each article,

Each overview should have in text citations (author, date and page number) e,g. (Christopherson, 2013, pg, 57 for each reference from the article or the textbook_ There should be at least two citations For each article, one from the article and one from the text_ You may include more references.

Overviews should be written in an introduction, main body & conclusion format.
include a short separate works cited page, in alphabetical order by author's last name, at the end of each article for the in text references. Three works cited pages total.

Example:

Christopherson, Robert, "Elemental Geosystems- 7 Ed. 2013 (for textbook) (include LIM_ for web) (include page numbers for articles from newspapers etc..) The works cited page should match the citations made in the overview.

A copy of the article must be stapled to the back of each works cited page.

You will be graded on:

1. The appropriateness of each article for a physical geography course

2. The correct format of a paper. (Citationst works cited pages, etc)

3. The correct. use of English: spelling, punctuation etc.
