Question

Mr Schrute feels that he is losing control of his department, and may never have had real control at all. It is early 2023, and Schrute has spent the last six months urging the staff to return full-time to the company's expensive downtown offices. However, no more than 40% of staff are in the office on any given day, and almost all the other department managers have gotten accustomed to the flexible working arrangements that videoconference and other internet technology makes possible.

What are two reasons why Schrute would still think a full return to the office is best? Explain two reasons why Schrute should accept the new reality and adapt new management techniques? Consider Mr Schrute's problem in the context of our course material about leadership around company changes.
