One of the challenges or debates that we find when we look at Urban, Rural, and Suburban is the degree to which we should hold onto past traditions versus the degree to which we must embrace change. I would like you to consider the current apocalyptic looking and feeling events that have transpired over the past months. We have record drought, record wildfires, record flooding, record hurricanes, record heat, and probably other things that I have forgotten.

Do you think these events suggest that the debates over Urban, Rural, and Suburban generally and how these ways/places of living correlate with poverty are now irrelevant and that we need to rethink how we are living?

Stated more directly, can we continue to have big congested cities, suburban sprawl, and small town America in light of what most agree are substantial impacts resultant from climate change?

Do we need to have some new design of living?
