Criteria for Biology - Powerpoint Presentations

Topic - Ozone Layer Depletion

You have to make presentation powerpoint about it.

Guideline for the presentation. It should be in apa format.

Getting a topic:

-All topics must be approved by instructor. Topics should be new and innovative in the field of Environmental Issues. Look for emerging trends and Issues. Topics are first come first serve.
-Take time to research and make sure there is lots of good quality material for your presentation
-Make topics as specific as possible.
-These will be discussed in class and you must come up with a topic and have it approved. You will not givena topic if you don't hand one in.
-You are to to find and hand in 3 possible topics and include 2 URL's to research articles that are related to each topic. Hand in your topics in the order you prefer to do them
-You will be deducted 10% off the overall grade, for this assignment, for every day past the topic due date that you are late. I suggest doing research on your topics so you know that there is enough current information on it.
-Can work alone or with a partner. You must let the instructor know before the topic due date if you are working alone or with a partner.

Important Points:
-Must use Powerpoint
-Presentations will be video taped (must include the Powerpoint as an attachment) and posted in Discussions
-I suggest either a Youtube/Vimeo link or a video file that is Canvas compatible (make sure to double check your video opens)
-All Powerpoints used in the presentations must be emailed to the instructorand posted as attachments to Canvas Discussions (along with your video link if you use video). Make sure to post early in case you have issues and to check to make sure it is posted and it opens on LC computers. Anything not posted on time or assignments that do not open will receive an automatic grade of 0
-Save your presentation in different places so that is something happens you have back-ups
-The format that works best is to create a Powerpoint and use that as a basis and videotape your self presenting it. (much like an in class presentation)
-APA reference format must be used: It is your responsibility to learn APA-For images retrieved from the web give the URL and date retrieved
-Any presentation not in APA will lose marks or receive a grade of 0 and be subject to the academic dishonesty policy
-Must in-text reference all material and images as well as note them on a reference page that will be the last page(s) of the PP
-Must use a minimum of 5 references
-4 of these must be scientific journal articles that are 2015 or newer...Library data bases are a good place to start
-This is not a "copy-paste" assignment and use of this tactic will result in a loss of marks...put material into your own concise words
-There is no set number of slides and it is up to you todecide how many to use in your 8-10 minute presentation
-Practice your presentation so you know how long it will be
-Double Check to make sure the files you post open and work correctly
